Volvo FH Aero Electric

The Volvo FH Aero Electric is a powerful, energy-efficient truck with zero tailpipe emissions built for city-to-city transport and a capacity of up to 65 tonnes.  For longer range assignments, you can opt for Volvo FH Aero with extended range that comes with a lightweight e-axle, which gives you more energy onboard and up to 700 km range on one single charge.

Two purpose-built versions

The Volvo FH Aero Electric comes in two versions. Both share many of the same advanced drivability and performance features but differ in range capabilities and gross combination weight.

It will take you further

The Volvo FH Aero Electric with extended range has an electric axle that allows for more energy onboard, with the possibility of adding six to eight batteries to the chassis. In combination with a light-weight tag axle, this truck is designed for maximum range and payload.

Compact power. Extended range.

The e-axle on the Volvo FH Aero Electric with extended range is an integration of two electric motors, power electronics, transmission and a 13 tonne traditional axle. It comes in two power levels; 420 kW (570 hp) and 460 kW (625 hp) and has an integrated 6-speed transmission, streamlined to work seamlessly with the electric motors.

All in one unit

The Volvo FH Aero Electric has a powerful and energy-efficient drive unit that integrates the driveline, power electronics, and transmission. With two electric motors and an eight speed transmission with powershift, you get seamless gear shifting and smoother acceleration.

Power, made useful

Developed for a range of applications, the electrical power take-off (ePTO) for both versions of the Volvo FH Aero Electric delivers reliable electric power with easy body builder access, making integration simple and efficient.

Long-lasting energy

The Volvo FH Aero Electric is equipped with energy-efficient batteries with an on-board energy of up to 540 kWh, and Usable Battery Energy (UBE) of up to 460 kWh. The e-axle drive unit on the Volvo FH Aero Electric with extended range makes space for more battery capacity, so you can get six to eight L-shaped battery packs fitted on the chassis, with a UBE of 725 kWh to maximize the energy onboard.

Precision as standard

Engineered drivability systems combine to give you confident control in tight spaces, assured traction in challenging terrain and smooth, responsive performance on the move.

One-pedal driving

Great for in the city or on the highway, one-pedal driving offers stronger retardation power and the possibility to select a suitable retardation level for a smoother ride.

Auto Go

Keeps the vehicle moving at a set minimum speed, which is perfect for tippers driving at low speeds.  At a standstill, when the brake pedal is released the truck will start to move at a speed of 1,5km/h.

Change Direction

Faster and smoother transition from forward to reverse, with direction changes possible of up to 30 km/h – ideal for tight maneuverability on construction sites.

Active Grip Control

Excellent traction grip and startability on surfaces like ice or building site gravel.
